Repair Procedure

This is a temporary policy to be used during the COVID-19 Outbreak:

  1.     Purchase this “REPAIR TICKET” Note: Our phone line is overwhelmed and we can no longer accept machines via phone at this time.
  2.     Pay the fully refundable $50 deposit. If your machine is under Baby Lock warranty, you will be refunded the total amount.
  3.     Bring your machine to The Cotton Blossom Mon – Fri 12:00 – 3:00 for drop off.
  4.     Drop Off procedure: In order to protect our staff, we will no longer be able to assist with removal and transportation of machines from your vehicle. Please set your machine outside our door and knock. We will retrieve your machine once you have returned to your vehicle.
  5.     Please only send essential items for the repair such as: sewing foot, embroidery foot, embroidery arm, power cord, etc.
  6.     We do not need any accessories, trolleys, etc. If it is a Baby Lock, we do not need your power cord, foot pedal or hoop.
  7.     Our technician performs repairs once a week, usually on Thursday.  If your machine is dropped off by Wednesday there is a very good chance that it will be ready by Friday, unless parts are needed.
  8.     You will be contacted when your machine is ready to be picked up.  Please check email, text and voicemail to receive that information.
  9. Additional fees (minus your $50 deposit) will be collected when you arrive to pick up your machine (see below)
Sewing Machine Performance Tips
  • Keep your machine covered when not using it. Household dust, lint and pet hair can enter your machine in one of it's many openings causing all types of problems.
  • Keep your machine away from direct sunlight, high/low temperatures and humidity.
  • Use the right needle for your project and change your needle every 3 to 4 hours of sewing or after every other project. The needle is the major culprit for most sewing problems.
  • Use good quality thread.
  • Use bobbins made specifically for your machine and make sure your bobbin thread is wound tight and no loose threads are hanging.
  • DO NOT SEW OVER PINS!  Your needle may break, you could damage the hook or pieces of the needle could fly up into your face.
  • Do not use canned air on your machine or blow into your machine. The lint is just being pushed further into the machine and you are spraying moisture into your machine which can cause corrosion or damage your circuit boards
  • Clean the bobbin area frequently. Refer to manual for instructions.
  • Have a machine service completed,on your sewing machine once a year to keep it performing like new for years to come.

The remaining balance will be collected when you arrive for pickup. Most machines will require a basic cleaning (price above) prior to any work being done.

Pick up procedure will be similar to drop-off. Call us when you arrive in the parking lot to pick up your machine. Pick up times: Mon- Fri 12:00 - 3:00

Purchase this---> “REPAIR TICKET” if you need your machine serviced
